| My name is Yaakov. I am Jewish by birth, but didn't grow up it. I have practiced Judaism before, but coonverted. Lately I have been questioning m conversion and am coming back to Torah.
As a Chabad Rabbi told me, life I hard and confusing, he was right. Since my conversion I have felt spiriually dry. I may sound loco to a lot, but I am jst a maj searching my path.
I hope to learn and grow and find help along my path. I hope I am welcomed and thank you.

| Welcome to the forum, Yaakov. So you were born Jewish but not observant and later had a conversion of sorts? Am I understanding correctly? | |

| Welcome Yakkov!
If you don't mind me asking, what did you convert to?
I'm a little confused.
But, I am also happy that you have found your way home.
Hope to be able to make you fell that way!

| Not confused anymore! Thanks for the reply!
Just didn't understand what you converted to.
Are you now studying Torah? If so, may I ask how?
The only reason I ask is because there are so many great teachers out there, I just want to make sure that wherever you are, you are benefiting from one who can really explain what the text is saying and the lessons to be learned.

I have been reading and will be looking for a shul to go to when I return from visiting family. I'm very confused about what t believe, and am questining a lot. But they say, what's a faith when it not questioned? Well something like that lol

| Thanks for the reply Yaakov.
Well, you'll be glad to know (if you don't already) that in Judasim, we are encouraged to ask questions. About anything and everything.
Judaism is built on and has survived by questioning everything.
If you need any assistance, just let me or anyone here on the forum know, and we'll try to steer you in the right direction.

| Yaakov, I was getting ready to invite someone over here when I realized you are already here! Please feel free to ask questions or start your own thread.
When will you be back home? Have you contacted any shuls in that area to let them know you would like to visit or would you rather not do that sort of thing?

If so then I got the link to this site when I accidently stumbled upon your profile. I haven't contacted them yet, but I will tomarrow when I get home. There are many shuls near since I live in North East. I'm still not sure where to go. Either conservative or chabad

| I was thinking as I started another thread on Torah study partners, maybe that would be something that would interest you? You could try Partners in Torah or Torah mates. They will set you up with somebody to study with each week. | |
