Here is the YouTube video from a flash mob in Jerusalem organized by Nefesh B’Nefesh set to the music of Smooth E’s “Hanukkah Hey Ya”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULtglogZbR8
For those of you who don't know about it, Nefesh B'Nefesh is a service to help Diaspora Jews make Aliyah: http://www.nbn.org.il/index.php If I ever decided to make Aliyah, they'd be the first place I'd go for information. A family from my "tiny minyan" made Aliyah a couple of years and we visited them in Modi'in (a relatively new town outside of Jerusalem) when we were in Israel in the summer of 2010. A few young adult (in their 20's) "children" from my "primary minyan" have made Aliyah in the past several years. Two of them are currently serving in the IDF.

Tonight I went to a "Taste of Limmud" and attended a session on Jewish stuff on the Internet. Here's a fun Hanukkah music video by Aish that is a medley of 8 pop hit parodies: Hanukkah: Rock of Ages
Gotta love the "Romans" being played by observant Jews with their tzitzit showing.

A former member of my "tiny minyan" who made Aliyah a few years ago posted this on her Facebook page:
Quote :
In recognition of the battle being waged in favor of hearing women's voices in Israeli politics and society, I will not share any Hannukkah songs (cute or not cute) that don't feature women singing.
When I was in college in the early 80's I went with my roommates and some guys from my dorm to see this in Boston. It only played at midnight, so by the time it was over, the "T" (Boston's subway) wasn't running, so we walked about 5 miles back to our dorm room between 2-3:30am! How fun to be a young college student.

I did not realize the Barenaked Ladies had a Holiday album with Chanukah songs. Anyway, here are two of them from their 2004 album. Not much in the way of video.

Wonderful rendition of Maoz Tzur by some chemistry students at the Technion in Israel. The students have very nice voices and do a nice harmony. Maoz Tzur by Chemistry students at the Technion
