Dear BlueMonday,
It is as understandable as it is unavoidable that everything is strange to you, after all this is why and what you're coming to learn: "Is becoming a Jew 'who I am'?"
The roads to becoming a Jew are many, but the journey is always unique to who you are. According to what you seek is what you'll find, but becoming a Jew is not something anyone can teach you...except yourself. You'll discover many things on your journey, and, please God, may the greatest thing you discover be yourself.
Setbacks will come, as will obstacles and doubts and deep self-questioning...as they should and need to. For this you need our blessings that you will continually search with an open mind and with an open heart, and my you be wise enough and courageous enough to understand that it's entirely dependent upon you. It's your life, and as important as your life is to you will be your pursuit in search of your life's deepest truths.
Above all, we bless you to have the courage to grow...and to grow...and to grow...
B'Shalom
