Mike previously asked how we pray but I am interested in why you pray? Because you should? Because it makes you feel connected to God? Connected to the Jewish people? What does prayer do for you? In what ways do you struggle?

This is an excellent question. I've thought about this before and the best answer I've personally ever been able to come up with is because I can't not. There's a connection to God that something in me is motivated to celebrate (or at least keep open). When I don't pray, I feel like something's wrong in my day. When I do, I feel like everything's in sync again.
