online High Holiday services

Since I know that a number of posters (and probably lurkers too) of this website are not able to attend Jewish services in person, here is some useful information that I found out about through the Jewish grapevine:

I am very pleased to inform you that this year we will be able to live broadcast our High Holy Day services on the Internet so that those who are in a hospital, nursing home, or home bound will be able to view our Holy Day services. Although anyone with a computer may access and view these services online, even if they are not physically ill, please know that from a Jewish religious perspective is it far preferable that one be present at an actual live service rather than viewing a service online. These broadcasts truly are meant for those who are not physically able to attend a synagogue on the High Holy Days.

One may watch the services live as they are being held, or else, one may watch them at later time. (It is not possible, however, to put on a live service and rewind back to the beginning.) Although we are not recording the services as COS, the platform that we'll be using retains these feeds "in the clouds," as they say, so that they will remain available online until a week after Yom Kippur. Please know that this is, in fact, being done in accordance with the rules of the Rabbinical Assembly's "Committee on Jewish Laws & Standards" of our Conservative movement.

The way to access and watch our High Holy Day services is as follows: Go to our COS website: http://ohevshalom.org/; towards the bottom of the opening page you will see a blue image of our synagogue's logo of a flame and beneath that image it reads "High Holy Day Services." Click on that link and it will enable you to view our services.

If you have loved ones or friends who are in a facility or will be home bound on these holy days and should they not be computer literate, please see if you can make arrangements before hand with the health care facility, or a hospital aid, or a home health care worker, to assist your dear one in accessing our services on a computer. I am sending this email out today to provide the maximum opportunity for you to make such arrangements, especially given the reality that this Monday is Labor Day when many businesses are closed or not fully staffed.

Thank you, Debbie! I'm also grateful since here I have a chance to experience only an Orthodox service; as I can see on Ohev Shalom's website, they are Conservative. I also have a chance to see only a Sephardic tradition service, so I enjoyed watching all this video material here.

Thank you for these links, I was very happy to watch and participate at least a bit like thit.
Sorry for not answering earlier - I have been very, very busy. A part of the story might be written on the forum maybe but I have to think first.
